The Champion Commercial Juicer G5-PG-710 is a versatile, durable, and powerful appliance. I was surprised by the weight of the machine, a solid twenty four pounds, and it does command a significant amount of counter space. It is assembled with a heavy duty GE motor that supplies 1/3 horsepower, yet remains fairly quiet. The nonmetal parts are constructed of a tough nylon which prevents cracking and breakage if dropped. Included with the purchase are a juicing screen, tamper, sieve, and blank screen.
I love the feeding tube which boasts a diameter of 1.75” allowing it to take in larger fruits and vegetables without my having to spend the time cutting them into smaller pieces. The blades are strong and made from a tempered stainless steel and effortlessly cut through the larger pieces of vegetables and fruits.
This juicer is designed with a floating cutter which separates the juice and pulp in a continuous motion working as a juice extractor. I have successfully used this juicer with all types of vegetables and fruits finding only an issue with wheatgrass, which is not unlike other juicers. Juicing is performed quickly and the pulp extracted is fairly dry. If the pulp remains moist, one more pass through the juicer will extract the remaining juices.
This Champion juicer is much easier than using a food processor. I have used it to make sorbets and sherbets, fruit sauces/smoothies, ice cream, nut butters, baby food, flour, and of course a variety of juices. The included recipe book boasts even more ideas on how it can be utilized.
The high-quality juice extracted is dark and vibrant in color and nutrient rich in taste. Assembly is straightforward and clean up is a snap which I find as a convenient feature. There are only 4 parts which all can be cleaned with ease. I have found that if clean up is done immediately following usage it takes only about 5 minutes of time. I would also recommend that the cutting shaft be lubricated after each use for better performance.
