Spiced Bean Sprout Salad

Sprouts as a whole are an important inclusion to a plant-based diet. This spiced bean sprout salad is so easy to make and so delicious to eat. It is light and refreshing. Ingredients needed for Spiced Bean Sprout Salad

10 oz mung bean sprouts, rinsed
1 TBS Seaweed Gomasio
1 scallion, chopped
2 TBS sesame oil
1½ tsp tamari
1/8 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
½ tsp sea salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon Dijon mustard for a bit more punch (optional)

Preparation of the Bean Sprouts for Spiced Bean Sprout Salad

  • In a medium saucepan, boil enough water to cover the bean sprouts
  • Once the water starts to boil, add the bean sprouts and cook for 1-2 minutes
  • Remove immediately from the stove, drain and rinse
  • Move the bean sprouts to a salad bowl

Prepare the Spiced Bean Sprout Salad Dressing

  • Mix all dressing ingredients together well
  • Pour over bean sprouts
  • Toss well
