Recipes that will Help you Raise Healthy Children

Raising a happy, healthy child is the biggest job a parent has and it is indeed a rewarding experience. However, many of us do not approach parenting with the same priority as we do our careers. We also sometimes act based on our gut reactions to situations or simply use the same parenting techniques that our parents did.

Making an effort to introduce a healthy diet for children may not always be easy. Yet there are some gentle ways parents can push their children towards healthful eating habits that will follow them through adulthood. It is very important that children learn the habit of eating healthy when they are young. Incorporating good eating habits while a child is young will last a lifetime, and diet is a major step towards living a healthy life.

Eating well contributes to maintaining a healthy body weight and increases the chances of your child doing well in school since good nutrition also improves concentration and behavior. Preparing healthy snacks for children does not have to be a daunting task. There are many healthy recipes for children that they will surely love and you will love too!

Here are some ideas:

Tasty Carrot Soup

Delicious, colorful carrot soup is simple to prepare.

  • 3 cups peeled and sliced organic carrots
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • the zest of 1 orange, grated
  • the juice of 1 lemon, or 1¼ cup of orange juice

Bring 1¼ cups of water to a boil in a large saucepan and add the garlic, carrots, lemon or orange juice and zest.

Cook for twenty minutes or until the carrots are tender.

Cool slightly, and transfer to a blender to puree until smooth.

Return the soup to the saucepan and reheat,

Thin with another ¼ cup of your choice of dairy-free milk until just below the point of boiling.

Tofurky Avocado Wrap

Using tofurky instead of meat provides high quality protein without the harmful saturated fats from animal products.

  • Whole wheat or Ezekiel tortillas
  • 1 mashed organic avocado
  • Vegan tofurky slices
  • Shredded carrots
  • Shredded vegan cheese (my personal favorite is Daiya)
  • Shredded lettuce
Assemble the wraps in this order: Spread the mashed avocado on the inside of the tortilla and sprinkle with the shredded lettuce and carrots. Lay on slices of tofurkey and sprinkle with grated cheese. Enjoy!

Healthy English Muffin Pizza

English muffin pizza is always a crowd pleaser. Try this healthier version!

  • Ezekiel or whole wheat English muffins
  • Organic tomato sauce
  • Daiya vegan shredded mozzarella
  • Italian seasoning
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • Red chili flakes to taste
  • Add mushroom, peppers or whatever toppings your little ones like
Cut open the English muffin into two equal parts.
Spoon some tomato sauce on the muffin and spread it around to cover the surface area.
Add the Italian seasoning, sea salt, pepper and red chili flakes (these can get spicy so use with caution!)
Add shredded cheese.
Bake the pizzas at 350° until the cheese is melty (yes, the Daiya cheese melts!)

  1. ADHD in youngsters has turn out to be a major issue of
concern and this is specially correct for the young
children around the globe who’re misdiagnosed. In America, you’ll find now
much more children on synthetic medicines especially to contend with what is believed to become
ADHD. But as time goes by and much more sleep related issues are ultimately being researched, the findings happen to be astounding in how snoring is now a most likely culprit to the child’s every day hyperactive behavior.
